Services
Colombian Immigration Services
From your first visa to the Resident (R) visa and citizenship — our bilingual attorneys handle the full immigration journey for foreign nationals relocating to Colombia.
What We Do
Immigration legal services for foreign nationals in Colombia
Colombian immigration law covers a wide range of visa categories, residency pathways, and legal processes — and the requirements shift regularly. Our attorneys stay current on the rules so your application reflects what's actually required today, not what was accurate two years ago.
We handle the full picture: getting you into the right visa category, managing your application and government correspondence, guiding you toward the Resident (R) visa, and handling the legal side of property purchases or investments when that's part of your plan.
Everything we do is available virtually. You don't need to be in Colombia to get started.

FAQ
Common questions about our services
Do you handle all Colombian visa types?
We handle all major Colombian Migrant (M) and Resident (R) visa categories, including Retirement, Investment, Digital Nomad, Marriage, Work, Student, and Visitor visas. We also assist with visa extensions and transitions between categories. If you're unsure which category applies to your situation, the consultation is the right starting point.
How do I know which visa I qualify for?
That's what the consultation is for. We review your income, employment, investment status, family situation, and goals — and tell you which visa fits and what it requires. Many people come in assuming one category applies and learn there's a better option.
Can I apply for a Colombian visa from outside Colombia?
Yes. Most Colombian visa applications are filed through the online Cancillería portal and do not require you to be physically present in Colombia at the time of application. You will eventually need to enter Colombia to register your visa and obtain your Cédula de Extranjería.
How long does a Colombian visa application take?
Processing times vary by visa category and current government workload. Most applications receive a decision within 5 to 30 business days. We provide realistic timelines during the consultation based on current conditions.
Do you work with clients from any country?
Yes. We work with clients from more than 40 countries. Most are from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and other Western countries — but we assist foreign nationals from any country eligible for Colombian visas.
Do I need to speak Spanish to work with you?
No. All attorney communication, document preparation, and client-facing work is available in English. We are a fully bilingual firm.
What happens after my visa is approved?
We walk you through what comes next: arriving in Colombia, presenting your visa at Migración Colombia to register it, and obtaining your Cédula de Extranjería. We also help you plan for renewal timing, the path to the Resident (R) visa, and any follow-up legal work.
Do you offer ongoing legal support after the initial visa?
Yes. Many of our clients work with us across multiple years — first for the initial visa, then for renewals, then for the Resident (R) visa, and eventually for citizenship. We maintain client files and can pick up where we left off when it's time for the next step.
Not sure where to start?
Schedule a consultation and talk to an attorney. We'll tell you which visa applies to your situation, what it requires, and what the process looks like — before you commit to anything.
