Who We Are

Immigration guidance from actual attorneys

Most people trying to move to Colombia — or sort out their status once they're here — run into the same problem. The internet is full of visa agencies, expat forums, and consultants who will take your money and fill out a form. What they can't do is give you legal advice, analyze your specific situation, or respond on your behalf when the government pushes back.

We built Colombian Visa Services to fix that. We're a registered Colombian law firm — our attorneys are licensed to practice law in Colombia — and we handle visas, residency, citizenship, real estate, and investment matters for foreign nationals from more than 40 countries.

You don't need to be in Colombia, speak Spanish, or understand the immigration system before you reach out. That's our job — and we do it entirely online, in English and Spanish.

Who We Help

Who does Colombian Visa Services help?

We work with foreign nationals from more than 40 countries — whatever your reason for coming to Colombia.

Retirees & pensioners

Moving to Colombia on a pension or retirement income. We handle the Retirement visa end to end.

Remote workers & digital nomads

Living in Colombia while you work for clients or employers abroad. The Digital Nomad visa is built for you.

Investors & property buyers

Buying real estate or investing in a business — plus the legal work behind it, from title review to the Investment visa.

Spouses & partners of Colombians

Married or in a de facto union with a Colombian national. We guide you from the marriage visa through residency and citizenship.

Parents of Colombian children

If your child is a Colombian citizen, the Parent visa is your path to living here.

Entrepreneurs & business owners

Forming a Colombian company and qualifying for an investor visa.

Binational U.S.–Colombian couples & families

K-1 fiancé visas, marriage green cards, and family petitions on the U.S. side too.

Complex or previously denied cases

Adoption, citizenship, appeals, or a visa that was already refused — the cases where an attorney matters most.

Our Approach

How we approach your case

Attorney-led from day one

A licensed attorney reviews your situation before anything is filed — so the strategy is right, not just the paperwork.

Right the first time

Legal depth means fewer refile requests, less back-and-forth, and less stress. We plan your whole path, not just the next form.

Proactive communication

Fast replies and real updates — you're never left wondering where your case stands. It's why we built the firm around U.S.-standard client service.

Honest — not a broker

We don't mark up apostilles, translations, fingerprinting, or health insurance. We point you to the most affordable options that get the job done, and if you find something cheaper, we'll vet it for you.

Right-sized

Experienced enough for adoption and citizenship, but you'll never pay a premium for a straightforward digital nomad visa.

Transparent pricing

You know the cost before you commit.

The Difference

A real law firm. That matters more than you'd think.

In Colombia's immigration space, most services look the same on the surface. Here's what actually separates a law firm from everyone else — and why, at prices comparable to the agencies, there's no reason to start anywhere else.

You work directly with a licensed attorney — from day one

Not a call-center agent, not a chatbot. A real Colombian attorney oversees your case from start to finish.

Attorney service at agency prices

Our 2026 pricing is comparable to the visa agencies — but you get an attorney, not a form-filler. No reason to start with an agency and only call a lawyer when something goes wrong.

We can give legal advice — agencies can't

An attorney can analyze your situation, tell you which category fits, flag legal risks, and represent you before the government. A consultant can't.

We catch problems before they become rejections

Every application is reviewed by an attorney before it's filed.

Co-Founder & Client Experience

Mike is a foreign national and entrepreneur who went through the Colombian immigration process himself — and found it confusing and poorly communicated. Our Story

How Colombian Visa Services started

Colombian Visa Services began with a frustrating experience. Mike Funkhouser had relocated to Colombia and — even with a business background — found the visa process confusing, opaque, and hard to get straight answers on. When attorney Daniela Córdoba walked him through it and made it simple, he saw an opportunity: pair real legal expertise with the responsive, proactive service foreigners so rarely get in the immigration space.

More than a decade of Daniela's legal practice and thousands of successful cases later, that's still the whole idea — a licensed attorney on every case, clear communication throughout, and an honest, cost-effective path from your first visa through long-term residency and citizenship.
